There’s a strange kind of silence after you finish your A/Ls.
After years of pressure, expectations, and labels like “Head Prefect” or “Science Stream student,” suddenly, you’re left with yourself. No textbooks. No timetables. Just dreams — raw, unstructured, and hungry to be realized.

That’s where I am. My name is Akila Weerathunga, I’m 20 years old, and I’m somewhere between a finished student and an unfinished story.

From Classrooms to Cameras

In school, I was that student — the one teachers relied on, juniors looked up to, and peers expected to ace everything. Being Head Prefect was both an honor and a weight. I learned leadership, discipline, and how to hold it all together even when I was falling apart inside.

But I’ve always known my journey wouldn’t end in a traditional 9-to-5. I’ve always seen life as a canvas — and I wanted to paint mine with creativity, entrepreneurship, and meaningful conversations.

The Channels of My Life

I launched my personal YouTube channel — “Akila Weera” — not to chase trends, but to tell stories. Real ones. I dive into topics that stir my curiosity: science, history, song lyrics, emotions, social patterns. Some episodes feel like spoken-word poems. Others feel like long-lost letters to my generation.

This isn’t about going viral. It’s about going deep.

Alongside that, I started a gaming and entertainment channel called “JAK W EE”, because even thinkers need a space to laugh, play, and vibe. There’s also Learnooz — my educational project focused on helping kids and students grow with fun, inspiring content. And that’s just the beginning.

Building My Own Ecosystem

Every creator eventually becomes a builder. That’s why I’m now working on Weera International, my parent company to unite all my ventures: marketing, education, entertainment, agriculture, and more. Each brand is a piece of me — past, present, and future.

And yes, I’m still figuring it out. I’m exploring options like a degree in Robotics, Data Science, or Electrical Engineering. I’m considering CIM for marketing. I’m learning how to run businesses, deal with finances, and carry my family’s dreams on my shoulders.

It’s not easy. But it’s mine.

Why I Do This

I come from a place where dreams often get postponed for “practical reasons.” But I believe our generation can break that cycle. We can create art, build companies, tell stories, teach kids, and still make a living. That’s the future I’m betting on.

And if someone like me — from a small town in Sri Lanka, with no rich investors or famous family names — can build something from scratch… maybe you can too.

Let’s Build Something Real

This isn’t a success story (yet). It’s a becoming story.

If you’re a creator, student, entrepreneur, or just a curious soul trying to find your path — I see you. I’m walking that path too.

Let’s build something meaningful. Let’s write stories the world hasn’t heard yet. Let’s show that dreams born in small rooms can echo far beyond them.

You can find me on YouTube as Akila Weera or just follow the journey. I’d love to connect.
